Carol: Most of my work is non-objective, meaning there are no intentionally recognizable objects– no hidden cats, dogs, figures and so on. I don’t use photo references only that which lives in my mind. The meanings of the colors, lines, textures and shapes are often even a mystery to me. I look at the harmonies, balances, repetitions, contrasts, dominance and I look into myself. How am I responding to what I see– what memories, dreams, problems, insights, or emotions are triggered. This takes time. They are not always easy puzzles to solve. Each of you will see or solve differently as each of us is unique but it does take time and thought. Look for yourself!
